MAJOR EVENTS
BEAST MASTER
Due to being the only one able to get close to Cu Chulainn and calm him down while in werewolf form, locals around the area of DunDealgan start to regard Merida as a beast master of sorts. Considering how she feels about his warp spasms, she doesn't exactly like this apparent appointment but if it's to protect him from any sort of torches-and-pitchforks scenario, she'll take it on. [ ✖ ]
TRUST IN BLOOD
A search through Treun for the escaped convicts of Leathann turns into a dangerous situation. In a moment of desperation, Merida accidentally kills a convict who has the intent of doing something unsavory to her. Traumatized, it's Gilgamesh of all people who pulls her through and reassures her that she did nothing wrong. The golden king, unwittingly, earns himself her trust and loyalty. [ ✖ ]
LADY LIONESS
The year had seen to a great deal of change in Merida. Not just in something deciding that her fate lay within the other court, but in herself and the actions that she took, in the thoughts that she processed. Some part of her became...less idealistic, as it were, more open to the idea that this was war. It had taken her just near a year in the Drabwurld to accept that as fact, that she'd only be seeing home in her dreams, and half a year later to find it in herself to move on. This land of the fae was her reality now. These were her people. And that was why she needed to protect them. [ ✖ ]
MAJOR CHANGES
SORCERESS
Merida has started to take her magical studies more seriously than before. By the end of the time skip, she should be appropriately trained in all the magics she has taken on, both fire and runic magic.
WARRIOR
Likewise, Merida has been honing her combat skills throughout the year. With a new sword from Diarmuid as of August and a new bow from Wan as of Yule, she'll feel as though she'll be better prepared for any of the future battles. Having killed her first human (accidentally), Merida starts accepting the idea that it's okay to kill people sometimes.

PLANS
- co-parenting wolfhound pups with Lancer
- fire magic training
- shard training
- become known as some kind of beast master by the locals
- visit the new Barrel once a month
- bandit stomping along a trade route with Korra
- swan shooting competition with Gilgamesh in April
- Treun tourney
- Samhain
- White Hart Hunt II: the Hart's Revenge
SUMMARY OF KNOWN DETAILS
For the most of it, Merida will be working on training in both her fire magic and her shard, along with learning some runes from Lancer, when she's not taking part in any of the events happening. Gaining influence in the surrounding area. Strengthening and being able to control her magic will be one of her primary focuses. She'll also be helping out around DunDealgan since she'll feel partially responsible for everyone there, considering she's courting its Lord. Many of her efforts will be going towards building up better personal relations between DunDealgan and the natives surrounding the area.
Another thing that I have planned is for her to open up a combat school for women of either court and/or natives only, offering it as a place of refuge during times of battle, and once she's lost her idealism and become a little more war hardened, offer her students out as mercenaries. This will all take time, possibly over the course of two time skips, but ideally I'd like to start planning things out now.

With the good timing of a seasoned husband, Lancer withdrew from the castle to spend the day fishing by the Loch. It seemed his lady was in distress and unfortunately for her, he was no 'knight of maidens'. He believed that some storms could be weathered and others simply had to be waited out from afar. So, he left for the Loch and fished for the better part of the day before returning in the evening.
When he returned, he had a large bucket of fish and a smile on his face.]

Still, she huffs when she sees him, mucking out Angus' stall. The end of the pitchfork goes into the ground, placing her other hand on her hip as she leans against it.]
An' just where have you been?
no subject
Had that much changed since the morning?
With that little smile still on his face, he sauntered to Merida while taking off his gloves. Sly, he definitely avoided quite a bit of Angus' leavings in front of him.]
Do you know-- [One hand set itself on a beam supporting the stall, while he gave Merida a it of a more seductive look.]
When you prop your hips like that, you look far too good for your own well-being?
no subject
Oh really?
[The smile makes her eyebrow raise, even as she feels a small nudge of irritation in the back of her mind with a particular string. Her lips quirk, lowering her arm from the handle and cocking her other hip as she tilts her head.]
Like this?
no subject
Lancer's own good mood was simply blinding him to any danger, really--which would work for the best.
The shift of her hips caught his eye and he reached to Alice's chin, running his fingers along it. He was pretty sure if she were covered in tar after working on a roadway, he would be up in arms to flirt.]
Oh, more than you think. Though, I've got to say--doesn't matter what you do, I'll have a bias to like it.
no subject
Merida had honestly started to become used to being flirted with in weird locations around the castle, so even though Angus' stall took the cake, it was still on the 'not quite so strange' side. She let him touch her chin, reaching up to tug at the collar of his shirt.]
Well that's good for me then, isn't it? That mean I could do anythin' an' you'd like it?
no subject
[At the same time, Lancer's smile was just somber enough that it was clear that he was thinking, despite himself. He wasn't just throwing himself on the curb to be stepped on out of a masochistic whim--]
But, of course, I can't be helped if I'm a little mean, myself, Princess. So, courtesy's always going to win me over the most.
no subject
[She matched his smile, tilting her head as she stood up on her tiptoes, other arm tucked behind her as her finger slid along the inside of his collar. Merida's lashes fluttered, looking up at him as she wet her lips and the corners of her mouth quirked.]
Might I kiss you then?
no subject
Might you?
[As if trying to incite some of that--]
You're getting awful courteous all of a sudden. Have we always needed to ask?
no subject
[Her lips purse themselves together into a look, a slight growl leaving her throat with her words as her other hand found her hip, blue eyes fiery. A pluck of harp strings and her mood swung wildly, settling on one; annoyance, a huff leaving her. The fingers in his collar pull out and the hand gives him a bit of a shove, full of upper arm muscle strength.
Tiny hands curled into the cloth and pull him down the short few inches that separated them in height these days. Merida's mouth is biting, nipping at a lip before she kisses him fully, slipping her tongue along the bite shortly after.]
no subject
The bite was a surprise as well, given that his kisses with Merida had been somewhat charming in their innocence to date. He wasn't expecting that level of fire, yet.]
Well, y'know, admittedly the stalls aren't the best place for a rut.
no subject
Then maybe we should relocate.
[Another kiss is pressed to the corner of his mouth as she hums, letting a smile cross her face. It hadn't been what she'd had in mind, but, well, he was right in that regard.]
no subject
But, it'll have to wait a minute. You're as pretty as a dream, but I still think ye' need a bath.
no subject
What? Ye can't handle th' smell of a little horse shit?
[Vulgar for a princess, but right now she's just raising an eyebrow.]
no subject
[The housewife in him was suddenly coming out and he wore a dangerous sort of smile when he looked down at Merida.
He wasn't at all obliged to tell her to get off of him, horse shit or not. Having her cling to him like that was well appropriate enough.]
But, not on my sheets.
no subject
[The smile did nothing to phase her, reaching up to tug at a bit of his hair. At this very moment, she didn't care about propriety. Propriety had been thrown out the window a long time ago. Merida's lips purse together in a small frown of a pout before they quirk into a smile of her own, mischievous in tone.]
no subject
[Really, he could have cheated and used his magical heroic spirit powers to shed the filth of sitting by a lake for an entire day off of his body, but that would have been a boring solution. From time to time, being a Servant was simply an inconvenience. Merida didn't have to know boring details like that.
He'd take the bath, instead.]
But, I guess I could show you how to run a quick bath.
[He said it with the confidence of a man who had clearly thought himself too clever for his own good.]
no subject
[Merida likely didn't want to know tiny details like that, were she aware of them. His fake surprise is met with another tug on his hair as he carries her, using the tug to press a kiss under his jaw, then to his neck, finding it in herself to be a little adventurous and nip at the skin, running over it with her teeth. She makes a small noise when she pulls her mouth off, leaning back in his grip and giving him a look as her fingers go to stroke along the back of his neck.]
But maybe you could show me how it's romantic.
[Her smile widens as she tilts her head, wriggling so that she was pressed against him, much like when she slept. Only she was wide awake and the intent had an entirely different meaning.]
no subject
Where it really came into play was that moment. Lancer raised one foot up with ease that had been forgotten for years so he could trip the latch to the door and shove it open--all so he wouldn't have to set Merida down.At least until they reached their destination.
One hand idled on Merida's backside, fingertips pointedly curling along the curve of it so he could give her a squeeze. His other hand was forced to draw away from her as he reached to a wooden post just by the basin. With one hand, he pulled it and water flowed into the empty basin. Realizing quickly that he had to check that the bottom was corked, he leaned over Merida's shoulder to ensure that it was. Relief washed over him, since that would have meant he'd have to stop for just a moment.
With that, Lancer set Merida's backside on the edge of the basin and then used that chance to dip lower, giving her a strong kiss to work her up while waiting for the water. He would have to make sure not to get too into things, he thought--or that basin would overflow and that bath wouldn't happen.]
no subject
A small squeak left Merida's mouth at the roaming hand cupping her backside, mostly out of habit as a tug of the harp strings made her flush with the embarrassing tone of her voice. Hearing the water start to flow, she looked behind her as she was sat on the edge, toes already beginning to work her stockings off. The kiss made her sigh, a murmur leaving as she pressed her mouth back, putting some pressure behind her end and working her mouth against his.
One of her hands pressed against his abdomen and she idly trailed her hand upward and to the right, feeling muscle underneath his clothing as her hand did some of her own groping. By the time she pulled her head back from the kiss, Merida's cheeks were red as an apple, inhaling through her nose as she bit her lip.]
no subject
Unlike Merida, Lancer had the utmost of ease when it came to removing his own clothing. His tunic rolled off of his body in wisps of blue light and his upper body was bare against her just as quick. The sudden feeling of her fingers on him woke him up pleasantly to their situation, but he felt loss as he still had to multi-task.
Merida's clothing was disappearing bit by bit, but it wasn't quite enough for him, yet. His head dipped as they kissed and for a moment, he felt himself huffing impatiently while the draw of Merida's lips threatened to lock him in place. With some effort, he paused.]
Hop in.
[It was a sting. His hands had swiftly gotten comfortable on Merida's backside, even becoming adventurous enough to draw where her stockings exposed bare skin once taken off.]
Or else you'll have to hop on one foot while I feel you up.
[He said it dryly, only giving Merida a smirk after he briefly let go of her.]
no subject
It was definitely a sting to hear those words, a small pout forming on her face at the pause, her legs kicking in the air around his waist. With a sigh, Merida tilts her head to kiss the tip of Lancer's nose before she swung one leg over the edge of the basin, the other following suit. Standing in it, she moved over to the other side to make room for him, water dripping down her legs from the initial entrance as she moved her hair over one shoulder as she sat down in the basin, resting her arms along the edge.]
Well? Are you goin' to join me or leave me here to get myself wet?
[The words come from her mouth with a bit of a purr, sinking back against the basin and tilting her head, raising an eyebrow.]
no subject
Being able to dematerialize came with numerous benefits--to which Lancer pulled his arms around Merida without hesitating.]
There I was, waitin' for you this whole time.
[He was a cheater, but he was a good-spirited cheater at the very least.]
no subject
[She really should be hardly surprised at this point in their relationship, but there were still some things that did. Merida gave a little huff and settled herself back against him, crossing her arms against the ones around her. It was nice though, she liked this kind of closeness. The warmth provided by the water and his body made it nice and cozy too, Merida thought to herself with a small sigh as she tilted her head back against his shoulder.]
So when does this start to be romantic?
[She hadn't forgotten their earlier comments, even while he was carrying her up here. Merida gives a small hum, her fingers trailing back along one of Lancer's arms, the other hand lifting to cup his cheek, planting a kiss under his jaw.]
no subject
[Lancer stretched his shoulders a little. The basin was small for him, a fair portion of him poking out of the water. Merida's proximity made him forget how uncomfortable that thing was to sit in--when alone, anyway.
Rather than hugging Merida plainly, Lancer pointedly curled fingers around the inside of Merida's thighs, pulling them apart with the ease of suggestion.]
Just like I've had plenty of other things on mind.
